UMAS Records Donated to CSU-Pueblo

Records of the United Mexican American Students (CU-Boulder) have recently been donated to the Colorado Chicano Movement Archives.  The 14 cubic feet of records consist of the office files of UMAS during the 1970s and 1980s.  Included are files which document the operations and interests of UMAS, including recruitment and retention of Chicanos, social conditions and equality issues relating to Chicanos, activism and events on campus and elsewhere in the state of Colorado, participations in national boycots of Coors, lettuce, and the Nestle’s Co. and cultural events, among others.  The records also include copies of UMAS publications, and runs of Ya Basta and El Diario de la Gente.  A small number of motion picture films and audiotapes are included.
